Non-Immigrant Visas

EXPEDITED NON-IMMIGRANT VISA SERVICES

Humanitarian Emergency

The Consulate makes an effort to expedite visa appointments in cases of humanitarian emergencies, which we define as a death or serious illness. If you believe you have a humanitarian emergency, please send a fax with the details to (86-21) 6217-2072. Be sure to include a phone number where we can reach you. A humanitarian emergency is not grounds for the issuance of a U.S. visa; applicants applying for a non-immigrant visa must still prove they meet the requirements of that visa class.

The fax must include:

  1. The full names of all travelers
  2. The birth dates of all travelers
  3. Passport numbers for all travelers
  4. Contact numbers for cell, home, and work phones
  5. E-maill addresses for all travelers
  6. The reason for the request

If you have been issued a visa in the past 24 months, you may already qualify for expedited service through our CITIC Bank frequent traveler program and would not need an expedited appointment. Click here for details.
