Expedited Non-Immigrant Visa Services
Foreign Affairs Passport Holder Expedite Program
Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) passport holders who have received a visa from the u.s. consulate general in shanghai within the past 12 months and whose total stay in the united states was less than 30 days may apply through their regional FAP office for an expedited appointment. These appointments are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, beginning at 1:30pm. Applicants should submit all application materials (DS-156, DS-157, invitation letter, fee receipt as per FAO regulations) to the FAO, which arranges the appointment and informs the applicant. Visas issued in FAO passports will be returned to the foreign affairs office that arranged the interview and submitted the passport to the Consulate. The U.S. Consulate makes every attempt to return passports to their respective FAOs within two days, but each FAO will distribute these passports according to their own schedules. Therefore FAOapplicants should inquire at their FAOabout when their visas will be available.
